Jo Cameron took over the role of owner of Colleagues on Tap in March 2015 after purchasing the company from founder Jayne Graham. Although this successful brand is extremely popular with remote workers and home-based business owners in the North East of England, Jo has ambitious plans to grow it exponentially both in the UK and abroad.
Jo also facilitates monthly Coworking days in Consett and Durham City where coworkers enjoy a supportive working environment and create potential business opportunities. She is keen to develop a real sense of team spirit amongst the local business community through future Coworking Days, to provide a forum for sharing ideas and best practice that will add value to everyone involved.
After an international commercial career, Jo joined the ranks of the self-employed in 2012 and during her first couple of years she’s really found her feet, plunging into new markets and building a reputation as an award-winning business owner.
As well as providing HR support and advice to small and micro companies, Jo is now also working with larger SMEs, and is increasingly becoming involved in preparing people for employment.
Jo won the North East Business to Business Award 2013 – (Ready for Business) attending the award ceremony at the House of Commons; is proud to have been selected as a Panel Judge for the University of Sunderland Professional Award in 2014 and 2015; and last year was appointed as an Associate Lecturer in Employability at the University of Sunderland.
